Koh Samui is a small island in the south of Thailand. I was there for 1 month. When you hear about an island in Thailand you, probably, think about wonderful beaches and something like that, am I right? I did. I was so disappointed. There is nothing about Thailand in Samui. It's absolutely touristic, dirty and expensive. I didn't like it, at all. Maybe because I'm "strange" and I like to travel and feel I belong to the country. There I felt like a tourist. The beaches were dirty. I couldn't stay much longer inside the water, I always started scratching because of the pollution. The waterfalls were really touristic, full of people and with trash. The elephants and the tigers were totally enslaved. The most famous street there was full of non-thai restaurants and annoying people asking "hey bro, where are you from?". First, I'm not a "bro", at least I'm a "sis", and I have my own sister with blond hair and blue eyes. It was annoying passing by there, and sometimes they followed us. Fortunately, we met thai people that live there and they were really nice. They helped a lot and they introduced us to a small beach with less people. I'll show you in another post.
We rent a motorbike and when Fed had free time we went to the beach or we got lost looking for something desert. In one of these trips we found a waterfall. A desert one! A waterfall only for us. It was one of the things that I loved the most in Samui.
Don't miss understand me, probably there are people saying that Samui is beautiful, but it is my opinion. Nothing like you see for yourself.
I enjoyed to be there, to know another part of Thailand and see beautiful stuff. I just didn't like the way that they transformed what could be naturally beautiful into something so touristic.
